Abstract
Aims and Objectives
Define and discuss management and leadership competencies for the successful introduction and sustaining of integrated care.
Create a forum for exploring how COVID-19 is evolving leadership competencies for managers, clinicians and communities, including the shift to digital communications
Reflect on positive learning from COVID-19 and what this means for future management and leadership competences and how they can be supported in practice.
Target audience
The workshop will be relevant to those with an interest in the management and leadership of integrated care and who see the need to revisit what it will take to transform healthcare in the era of COVID. This includes clinicians, senior managers, operational managers, academics and people with lived experience.
Learnings/Take away
Greater understanding of the competencies required for managing and leading integrated care
Insight into how the COVID pandemic is changing what is required of leaders of integrated care.
Shared learning about how to support the development of such competencies in practice
Format
5 minutes: Context and presentation of the competencies for management and leadership of integrated care (Jodeme Goldhar & Viktoria Stein)
20 minutes: What have managers learnt during COVID 19 about leading integrated care?
20 minutes: What have clinicians learnt during COVID 19 about leading integrated care?
20 minutes: What have communities learnt during COVID 19 about leading integrated care?
15 minutes: Summary discussion on evolving our competencies and supporting people to develop them; next steps.
The facilitation team is experienced in engaging a wide variety of stakeholders in such interactive events including those in a virtual format.
