About Ashlea
Ashlea McLeod is a physician assistant in rural primary care, staffing both the clinic and the emergency department.  Ashlea also specializes in behavioral health care and integrated care in the primary care setting.  She is currently attending Arizona State University Doctorate of Behavioral Healthcare program which specializes in integrated care and brief intermittent psychotherapy practices.  She was one of the original staff developers of the Hospital Internal Medicine Program at Mayo Clinic Rochester for 5 1/2 years, where she was also champion of research for her department.  She attended the University of Nebraska Medical Center, receiving her master's degree in medical practice and completed a fellowship in hospital internal medicine in conjunction with that degree at Mayo Clinic.  She attended the University of North Dakota physician assistant program, and prior to that received baccalaureate degrees in both nursing and psychology from Liberty University.  She was an Intensive Care Unit nurse for 11 years prior to becoming a medical provider and was a nursing instructor at Ellsworth College for 2 1/2 years. Ashlea is currently residing in Rochester, Minnesota and will complete her doctoral studies in December of 2011.
